I chose a clinic once because it was cheaper. The consultation lasted four minutes, nobody asked about my skin, and I left holding a treatment plan I didn’t understand. Since then, I check the same four things before booking anywhere.
Last month I compared two clinics for a friend, with a 150,000 won (about $110 USD) gap between the quotes. We went through all four checks together.
1. Who performs the treatment
“A doctor” on staff isn’t the same as knowing who will treat you. The cheaper clinic said “one of our doctors,” no name attached. The other named the doctor and said how many times she’d done this procedure that month.
2. What equipment they use
Both clinics called it “the same laser.” Knowing the exact device name at least lets you check it against another clinic’s quote. My friend asked, and it turned out the two clinics were using different machines under the same generic name.
3. What the reviews show
A high star average can hide old reviews. Most of the cheaper clinic’s five-star reviews were posted three years ago. The other had recent reviews with dated photos.
4. What happens during the consultation
This is usually the clearest sign. One clinic spent most of the call talking about price. The other spent it asking about her skin and what she wanted from the treatment.
Once we compared what each price covered, the gap made sense. The cheaper quote left out the consultation and any follow-up visits.
She booked the clinic that answered her questions.
